Our Story

Founded in 1993, Mercury Technology has a long history of delivering excellent service and value. For over 20 years we have been diligent in adhering to our core values and striving to continuous improvement.

  • Mercury Technology Group History - 1993

    Mercury Technology started as a consulting group focused on high-performing, large database systems. Engagements spanned leading-edge applications during the dot-com nineties: a Video-On-Demand Proof of Concept, High-Performance Database Applications, Data Transformation Engines. Growing rapidly we observed a need for "DBA Managed Services" offerings - customers needed expert DBA support but could not afford on-site around-the-clock contractors. With the advent of Virtual Private Networks, Mercury introduced a Remote DBA service in 1999 to address market demand for an affordable yet effective DBA support model.

  • Mercury Technology Group History - 2001

    A few years of "Remote DBA Managed Services" uncovered various issues with the business model. It was difficult to manage Oracle Database and Application software without access and ownership of server and operating system components (Oracle software relies heavily on a well-tuned and tightly configured eco-system). Struggles with lack of control, ownership, and accountability drove us to change our approach and adopt a more comprehensive hosting strategy. As one of the industry pioneers, Mercury intitiated an Oracle Hosting and Managed Services offering. Building from the ground-up and resisting the industry momentum to off-shore, we implemented a US based hosting platform for multi-national Oracle businesses.

  • Mercury Technology Group History - 2007

    As Mercury's hosting business was gaining traction the 2007 Financial Crisis hit and uncertainty quickly engulfed the industry. However, it became quickly apparent that our hosting strategy was not only resilient but provided the solution many businesses needed to support their critical systems at a much lower cost of operation. Years of hardening our infrastructure and tuning our service processes started were paying off as customers were in search of affordable alternatives to in-house and consulting based service programs. Mercury continued to grow, opening Service Centers on the East Coast of the United States and in Honolulu, HI to address the need for full-time service and support personnel around-the-clock.

  • Mercury Technology Group History - Today

    As a true innovator in the industry, Mercury Cloud offers a variety of Oracle specific services you can't get elsewhere. From fully automated environment cloning to low-cost business continuity solutions to SOX auditing/reporting solutions we are constantly improving and extending our support programs. Mercury has completed an 18 month facility upgrade program (all locations have been upgraded and expanded) and is poised for continued growth as the cloud services industry matures.

City of Hope is a leading research and treatment center for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases. Designated as a comprehensive cancer center, the highest recognition bestowed by the National Cancer Institute, City of Hope is also a founding member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, with research and treatment protocols that advance care throughout the nation. City of Hope's main hospital is located in Duarte, Calif., just northeast of Los Angeles, with clinics in Antelope Valley and South Pasadena.

META - Making Education The Answer Mercury Technology's Charitable Contributions to META - Making Education The Answer

Since 2000, META has had an impact on the under-education of the Hispanic community by providing scholarships to youth in Southern California. Nearly 30% of all Hispanics in the U.S. reside in California. As the only local nonprofit organization devoted to providing scholarships exclusively to Hispanics, META is working to address the need at ground zero.

META provides financial support for Latinos going to college and educates students and families about the resources available for paying for college. The investment pays off dividends - students receiving scholarships for META are beating the average graduation rates by nearly double. The six-year national graduation rate for all Hispanics students at four-year institutions is 43.5 percent, according to the U.S. Department of Education's National Center for Education Statistics.

St Timothys Episcopal School is located in Compton, CA. It is a private school that serves 63 students in grades K-8. St Timothys Episcopal School is coed (school has male and female students) and is Episcopal in orientation. The school belongs to the National Association of Episcopal Schools.

St. Timothy's was founded to serve families in the Compton area, and as a result it needs help in supporting its program. "One challenge faced by the school is that there are many able and interested students in the immediate neighborhood who cannot afford even the modest tuition charged by St. Timothy’s," says Beeks. "As the school has operated for many years on prayer, hope and duct tape, there are only tiny reserves to offset scholarship assistance."
